Billykirk & Covid 19
Dear friends and family,
It’s not everyday that we send an email hoping everyone is adjusting to a national quarantine event. This past week of home isolation brought lots of self-reflection and more questions than answers. With Captain Kirk at the helm, who luckily lives close to our studio, handling order fulfillment and the rest of the team working remotely, we are all doing our part to keep Billykirk afloat.
Make no mistake, these are unsettling times. But, as a nation, we have endured our fair share, and we’ll come out better for it. In our short 20 years of existence, Billykirk has weathered 9/11 and a major financial crisis. And while this pandemic will affect each of us in different ways, it’s also a chance to become more prepared, more supportive of independent retailers and restaurants, more empathetic, and more thankful for what we do have.
The old saying “hope for the best and prepare for the worst” really comes to mind while we navigate this new world. As a small business, we are in for the fight of our lives, as this could last many months with multiple waves of illness.
We will continue to produce many of the spring and summer offerings that have been in the works, including new styles and color combinations. While hunkered down in our homes, we’ll be sharing some how-to videos we think you’ll enjoy. We look forward to moving into our permanent space later this spring, where we will have a small retail footprint and hope to become more integrated into the neighborhood.
Finally, we launched our annual Spring Sale on Tuesday, March 24, from which 10% of the proceeds will go to Feeding America (feedingamerica.org). We would be grateful if you gave it a look and shared it with your friends.
So, to that end, we are here for you and hope you continue to visit our site. Your support for our American-made goods means the world to us now more than ever.
Thank you, and keep flattening that curve.
Chris and Kirk
