Product Flashback: No. 092 Card Case

by Chris Bray

Few items in our collection rival the popularity of our No. 092 Card Case. The concept for the design emerged more than two decades ago in 2002. I envisioned a hand-stitched, front-pocket wallet made from a single piece of leather. But I lacked the know-how.
I began folding, cutting, and taping paper, not considering how it would be stitched, a process that took even more time to sort out.
With some fiddling, a touch of origami, and a stroke of luck, I transformed a flat piece of leather into a folded and stitched card case with two distinct slots and a closing flap. This was a genuine "aha" moment for me.
It’s been in our collection ever since, and it’s not going anywhere.
P.S. Feel free to share a photo of your No. 92 Card Case at info@billykirk.com.
