We’re honored to share our newest collaboration with one of the most iconic and influential bands of all time, Grateful Dead. With support from Warner Music Artist Services and Rhino Records, this new collection builds on fan favorites from our previous release while introducing fresh designs, colors, and hardware. We hope it sparks your inner dancing bear. Since launching Billykirk in 1999, Grateful Dead has been in heavy rotation for us. Beyond the music, they’ve inspired a lasting culture of unity, love, freedom, and creative expression, values that mirror our commitment to creating timeless pieces that only get better with age. Slipmats have become a must-have accessory for audiophiles, DJ’s, and vinyl collectors alike. Originally designed by Grandmaster Flash, slipmats were made of felt and allowed DJ’s to slip the record when scratching. Unlike felt, leather will not create an electrostatic charge which can damage or even crack a record. Additionally, it’s insulating properties can reduce harmful resonances and some claim it’s mild dampening can subtly lift bass response. But to us, it just looks cool.
